The historic walled university town of Urbino is the site of newest project for three undergraduate credits. We will be using housing and academic space of the University of Urbino, plus all meals are included. Urbino is a regional governmental center and has excellent transportation to all areas of Le Marche, a delightful region hemmed in between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Limited to 24 students (4-1 student-faculty ratio), we will be organizing 6 production units to create the first web documentary on the town.

Urbino is one the most important towns in Italy and is included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Many say that the Renaissance started here under the patronage of Duke Frederico da Montefeltro, whose twin-turreted palace still stands and houses a fine collection of period art. Like most European universities, there is no central campus; the university occupies buildings spread throughout the town.

Highlights of the Urbino program:

  • Earn 3 undergraduate communication/journalism credits through San Francisco State University
  • All meals included on campus
  • Beginning and advanced students accepted
  • Faculty drawn from major universities, plus top professionals
  • Comfortable dorm rooms (wi-fi active) with semi-private baths
  • Modern classroom facilities
  • Cameras, video-cameras, laptops provided to each production team
  • Learn the multi-media basics and add some professional experience to your resume
